Zelienople is a historic borough on the south bank of Connoquenessing Creek, founded in 1802 by Baron Dettmar Basse and incorporated in 1840. It has a walkable Main Street, a restored performing arts venue, and a population of 3,912 as of the 2020 census. For buyers who want a traditional small town setting with interstate access, it is one of the most asked about communities north of Cranberry.
Getting around
U.S. Route 19 (Perry Highway) runs through the center of town as Main Street, connecting south to Cranberry Township. Interstate 79 passes just east of the borough with three nearby exits (85, 87 and 88). Routes 68, 288 and 588 connect to Harmony, Evans City, Ellwood City and Beaver County. Downtown Pittsburgh is about 28 miles south via I-79 and I-279.

Zelienople's housing includes older homes within walking distance of Main Street, including many built in the first half of the twentieth century, along with postwar neighborhoods and newer construction on the borough's edges and in the surrounding townships.

The restored Strand Theater on Main Street hosts performances and films year round. The borough's historic sites include the Buhl House, Passavant House and Kaufman Tavern. Annual events include a Fourth of July parade through downtown and the long running Horse Trading Days arts and music festival. Neighboring Harmony, with its National Historic Landmark district and museum, is a few minutes away.

Zelienople is part of the Seneca Valley School District. The district's Connoquenessing Valley Elementary is located in Zelienople on Pittsburgh Street and serves Zelienople, Harmony, all of Lancaster Township and parts of Jackson and Cranberry townships.
