Getting around
Interstate 79 runs through the township, with the Warrendale area close to the I-79 and Turnpike interchanges at the Cranberry line. Route 19 runs along the eastern side toward Wexford. The combination makes Marshall one of the most convenient North Hills townships for commuting both north and south.
Homes and neighborhoods
Marshall is known for single family subdivisions with larger homes, much of it built from the 1980s onward, along with older homes on larger lots in the township's more rural sections. A large research and business park, operating since the late 1960s, keeps many employers close to home.
Parks and things to do
Marshall's parks include Knob Hill Community Park, Warrendale Park and Altmyer Park, and part of State Game Lands 203 lies within the township. Shenot Farm Market on Wexford Run Road is a local landmark. The township is part of the Northland Public Library system.

Marshall Township is served by the North Allegheny School District. Marshall Elementary and Marshall Middle School are located in the township, and high school students attend North Allegheny Intermediate High School (grades 9 and 10) and North Allegheny Senior High School (11 and 12).
